Comprehensive Cancer Control (CCC) Basics

The GW TAP Comprehensive Cancer Control Basics page houses key practical information, including the collective diversity and wisdom of the comprehensive cancer control (CCC) community, in a single location for easy access and peer-learning.

This site can help you:

  1. Orient new staff to the CCC world
  2. Find CCC peers with our coalition map
  3. Use evidence to inform practice
  4. Share strategies that have worked with other CCC coalitions
  5. Find guidance, information, and resources to support your work

Coalition Central

Comprehensive Cancer Control (CCC) Coalitions work together to leverage strengths, resources, and organizational will to implement plan priorities. Coalitions may vary in how they are structured and differ on the specific topics that they choose to focus on based on the needs of their populations, but effective coalitions have formal structures that allow for diverse membership that is representative of the needs of the populations they aim to serve. Ongoing strategic planning is critical for identifying priority areas. Workgroups develop and implement topic-specific short and medium-term action plans that are all a part of their overall cancer plan. Visit the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program site to see each state, tribe or territory cancer plan and use the Comprehensive Cancer Control Plans Search Tool to search CCC plans for keywords.
