The GW Cancer Center Patient Navigator Learning Collaborative seeks to support learners as they complete the Oncology Patient Navigator Training: The Fundamentals. As learners independently complete the online training, the Learning Collaborative sessions will bring learners together for peer-to-peer sharing, discussion, clarification of questions, and application of knowledge learned via case studies. Each 45-minute session, led by a patient navigation expert, will be held virtually on the second Thursday of each month, from 11:00-11:45 am ET (8:00-8:45 am PT).

The Oncology Patient Navigation training, a free course for anyone interested in patient navigation within an oncology setting, is based on national consensus-based competencies for oncology patient navigators without a clinical license. This comprehensive, competency-based training uses evidence-based information and case studies to prepare patient navigators to effectively address barriers to care for cancer patients and survivors.
