The Illinois Department of Public Health Comprehensive Cancer Control Program and the Division of Oral Health are pleased to present this webinar opportunity, "Oral Health Practitioners and Cancer Prevention through HPV Vaccination."
Webinar objectives:
1. Comprehend the impact of HPV related oropharyngeal cancer.
2. Identify key resources to support the promotion and administration of HPV vaccination.
3. Define easy-to-implement strategies for all members of the dental team to play an active role in reducing the incidence of cancer through the promotion of HPV vaccination.
4. Gain an understanding of the deleterious impact of oropharyngeal cancer and why oral health practitioners should champion this lifesaving vaccine.
5. List Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ recommended schedules, catch-up schedules, and ages for HPV vaccine.
6. Demonstrate at least 3 ways to improve HPV vaccination rates.
7. Use the Illinois Department of Public Health’s (IDPH’s) Vaccines for Children (VFC) Providers search website to identify nearby VFC clinics. http://vfc.illinois.gov/search/.
