Enhancing Emergency Preparedness Approaches for Low-Income Populations Along the Cancer Continuum: Free Cancer Support Services Available (Year-Round) for Your State, Patients, Employees, and Communities

Part One of this archived webinar series shared information to enhance collective readiness for and recovery from natural disasters. Such information is essential for strengthening national, county/parish and community health resilience (CHR), all of which are vital for improving health outcomes among “at risk” populations before, during and after natural disasters, such as low-income populations diagnosed with chronic diseases (including cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes).

Part Two addressed minimizing the impact before, during and after natural disasters by increasing knowledge of: a) free cancer support services available and b) best/promising community-clinical linkages interventions (policy, system, and environmental) or partnerships essential to enhancing emergency preparedness, response and recovery outcomes among low-income populations with cancer and its comorbidities (for example, cardiovascular disease and diabetes).
